Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!! I absolutely adore Halloween and everything that comes with it. This weekend i made sure to celebrate my favorite holiday to the absolute max dressing up not once but twice. I am partied out and exhausted, but i had a great holiday weekend with friends. Even though today is actual Halloween i have been celebrating and dressing up since Friday, so I'm trying very hard to stay in the spirit. My neighborhood is kind of rural with large lots so we hardly ever get any trick or treaters. Therefore, all i am looking forward to tonight is a place outdoors where i can sit and people watch everyone else, hopefully while eating some of my favorite candy. Trick or Treat!
happy halloween friday!

minnie mouse purse my niece yaya lend me was probably my favorite part of the whole costume.

There is this little store I walk by around three times a week right next door to my gym called Francesca's Collections in Merrick Park. At first I refused to walk in because stores in Merrick Park can be quite expensive. This worked for a couple of weeks but their window displays are so adorable and so perfectly styled that one day I finally gave in and walked inside. To my surprise this is not the average "Merrick Park" boutique, this being because the prices are incredibly reasonable. It has now become one of my stores to quickly run into and purchase something when I am in a bind or a rush. Today I realized that my outfit is mostly from Francesca's and decided to share one of my secret spots.

Work It Out

Working out, being athletic, and playing sports has always been a part of my daily life ever since I can remember. When I was younger it was much easier to be athletic because ever since middle school I played any sport that would have me. Basketball, softball, cross country, and track were the four that I pursued for most of my childhood. Once high school started I was an avid runner and ran cross country and track, eventually sticking to just cross country and becoming really serious about running. I think because of this even way after high school I have always been athletic. In college I was a workout maniac (to an almost unhealthy point), I went daily to my college gym, and had spinning & pilates packages at other gyms. After college this slowed down, of course because life gets more and more difficult and we sometimes don’t make the time we should to take care of ourselves and our bodies. I try as hard as I can to consistently work out and be healthy. I'm a member at the local Equinox gym in Miami, and though a little pricey it’s the only gym I am 100% happy at. (Yes, I have tried many gyms.) To me Equinox offers the best classes and combinations of many different types of workouts. I easily get antsy and need to constantly be changing my workout routine so that I don’t get bored. Equinox is the perfect place for this because they have the best of the best of everything. The best spinning bikes, all levels of yoga and pilates classes, weight training classes, and every single type of cardio and weight lifting machine you could ever dream of. The facilities are impeccably clean and it’s just a happy place to go to and work out. Even being a member of what I think is the best gym in Miami I still fall into ruts. I will work out very hard for 2-3 weeks and then slack off for 2 weeks. Starting this past Sunday I have been trying to get back into my normal workout sessions and routines, and this time I really don’t want to fall into a rut. There are two main things that motivate me to workout and stick to it: #1 is healthy eating, if I am eating healthy I am more motivated to go to the gym, which is why I ordered my fit2go meals for the whole week. #2 is new workout clothes, as silly as this may sound anything from new running shoes to a new sports bra gives me that extra push to workout.

Zella Leggings -nordstrom.com
Stella McCartney Workout Bag -shopadidas.com

I am super picky about my athletic clothing; I have tested almost every type of workout pant/legging, and running shoe brand that’s on the market. These are the items that I feel are the best. Leggings that never slide down or become sheer, a watch that works as a stop watch and is shock & water proof, a hygienic water bottle, the best ipod (I think) for running, and headbands that don’t slide off your head. These are the items that help me have the best workout I can have. I own most of these items and some are wish items I want, such as the lunar glide nike’s. I hope this motivates some of you to get out there and work out your bodies, it really is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.

P.S.: There is also a #3 thing that motivates me to workout and that is new music on my iPod!!! Here are  some new songs that have been motivating me lately.

We Found Love: Rihanna (Feat: Calvin Harris)
Save The World: Swedish House Mafia
Marvin & Chardonnay: Big Sean (Feat. Kayne West & Roscoe Dash)

Summer Me, Winter Me

Vince sweater top. RACHEL by Rachel Roy leather shorts. Steve Madden wedges. Jimmy Choo Handbag. Zara Scarf.
Jewelry: loehmann's necklace. MICHELE watch. bracelets: N&K Designs. tiffany & co. henri bendels.
When you think of fall and winter you think of fabrics such as leather, wool, suede, but if you were to wear those in Miami you might have a heat stroke. Though the weather has dropped to mid to high 70s its not yet cold enough. This is perfect for me for my city's fall season, while still staying cool. Wool short sleeve sheer top, leather shorts, and suede mary jane wedges. I can enjoy wearing all the fabrics and trends of fall while still being comfortable, and that's what most important of all.

Epcot Food & Wine Festival

As previously shared I am a huge Walt Disney World fan (http://verythoughtofyou.blogspot.com/2011/08/happiest-place-on-earth.html), and recently I had the opportunity to return to one of my favorite places on Earth. Walt Disney World has many events all year round, but by far my favorite event of all is the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. It is a MUST for me to go at least once during the month and a half long event. This year it started on September 30 and it is running until November 13. Last weekend a couple of friends and myself did the drive up to Orlando and attended the festival all day on Saturday! I love the Food & Wine Festival because you can choose to eat all around the world and try different cuisines, or drink all around the world trying speciality wines and beverages. It is really up to you how much you want to eat and or drink, so its perfect. To learn more the event please see the website on Walt Disney World: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/epcot/special-events/epcot-international-food-and-wine-festival/

AREGENTINA: Beef Empanada & Terrazas Reserva Carbernet Sauvignon

CARIBBEAN: Ropa Vieja & Frozen Rock Coconut Mojito (SO GOOD)

HAWAII: Seven Tiki Mai Tai & Kona Longboard

If like me you want to try almost everything in the festival i highly suggest sharing with a friend or two. This method seems to be most affordable and the best way to not get super full and/or drunk too quickly. Trust me I have been going to the Food & Wine Festival since i have been legally allowed to drink and i have this method down to a tea! It is the best way to experience the most it has to offer.

La Cava Del Tequila - Tequila Tasting

So Happy in my Tequila Cave!

I truly felt like my day at Epcot Food & Wine Festival passed by way too quickly! I am already planning on going back one more time in November. It's great to be a Disney Annual Passholder, especially when you live in Florida. See you real soon!

In The Family

Very rarely does shopbop offer promo codes with discounts. I'm talking about maybe once or twice a year! When I woke up this morning and saw that until tomorrow night October 19th at midnight shopbop is offering 20% off all merchandise it felt like an early (very early) Christmas present. It's their friends and family promotion, and I would act as soon as possible! I’ve been letting my wish list fill up in hopes that either the items would go on sale or a promo code would be offered, and here it is! Maybe now some of my wish list items will be become reality possessions.

Instagram

Instagram is by far one of my favorite iphone & ipad apps. It helps people like myself who don't know anything about editing and playing with photos feel all creative and editor like. You upload a normal photo and with a few clicks after some simple steps you are left with something looking much better and much cooler than the original. I can be found on instagram under @elliemae782 (same as my twitter), in the meantime i wanted to share some of my favorite photos to date :)
