Bye 2011

This has been one of the fastest year's of my life, it literally flew by! They say when time goes by really fast it's because good things are happening all around, and i know believe this to be true. My new year's resolution last year was to write more, and though i got off to a slow start come April i was full speed ahead! I found my niche and once that happened this little blog of mine did a complete 180. So many good things have happened that i never even believed were possible, such as being featured on websites like miami.com, refinery29.com, fabsugar.com look of the day, fabsugar looks of the week, yumsugar, yumsugar garden party. I write this blog because i want to share what i love with whoever will read it, and to get any type of positive feedback makes me unbelievably happy. Thank you to anyone who talks about it, recommends it, and reads it you are helping my dreams come true one day at a time. I don't know how 2011 will be topped but i know i have a long list of things i want to accomplish in 2012. Now with my new Nikon d5100 i plan on taking this little blog to new heights and i cant wait to share everything! I'll be sailing away tomorrow to the Caribbean and be away all of next week. I wish you a very Happy New Year, and ill be back come January 9.

Cheers! Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday Carlos

Today is a special day and that is because today is my little brother, Jorge Carlos, Birthday! I only have one brother, so as you can imagine we are pretty close. We grew up side by side always having each other's back.  My brother is my best friend, but its not always rosy we of course have our arguments like all siblings. At the end of the day my brother is the one person who will be with me for my entire life. I'm thankful for him and for all that we have shared together. From a countless amount of unforgettable birthdays, to amazing memories, to just watching a movie together. I hope you have a great birthday Carlos and many more to follow. I love you <3

Today is also my step dad Joe's Birthday!

With New Year's Eve being this Saturday I wanted to share this outfit with lots of sparkle. Maybe it can bring you some motivation while picking out what you will wear to ring in the new year! Some sparkle is almost a must for any new year's celebration and not to mention it goes great with some bubbly, especially rose bubbly, which is what i hope to be sipping on as the clock hits 12!

My best friend always knows how to sparkle!

Tropics

Bye Bye Christmas Hello New Year!!! Especially Hello New Years on the NCL Epic! Traveling is the cherry on the cake during the holidays. There is nothing that can help you forget about all the hustle bustle of Christmas like taking a nice long vacation. After extra long days in the malls and wrapping presents I can not wait to step foot on my cruise this upcoming Saturday and travel to destinations like St. Thomas, St. Marteen, and the Bahamas! It’s going to be a fantastic start to the New Year. Though I live in Miami and it’s basically summer all year round here, I really don’t go the beach much between October and March. This weekend I did some bathing suit shopping for my upcoming trip at the best swimsuit boutique here, Nic del Mar. They have the best selection of unique stand out swimsuits with brands like Mara Hoffman, Acacia, DVF, Vix, Salinas, Tori Praver, and Indah (to name a few) its hard to walk out with just one. All I'm dreaming of this week is laying under the sun with my pina colada in hand and wearing one of my new swimsuits!

Both suits below from Nic del Mar in Coral Gables, Florida.

Three Terrific Things

Tomorrow is finally Christmas Eve following Christmas Day on Sunday! So looking forward to spending time with my family, having a huge Christmas Eve dinner, and seeing my niece, nephew, and all the other kiddies in the family open their presents! Wishing all of you a Very Merry Christmas!

My Spike the Punch necklace is here! Just in time for Christmas parties and celebrations. I keep thinknig of different outfits I can wear it with. Can not wait to come up with a really good combination for the blog.

I guess this is like four terrific things, but I just had to share my new tech accessories! The first was my secret santa gift which I absolutely love. The kate spade ipad case holds my ipad perfectly in place and I can’t help but smile when I read its cheerful message. The second is my iphone case; I recently upgraded to a white 4s iphone, and needed a white case for it (duh)! I found this one on society6.com. There are literally thousands of cases to pick from, but when I saw one of my all time favorites and inspirations Audrey Hepburn I new my decision was done.

Chambray Day

One of my best friends recently started making the bracelet shown above and below, first one after the watch. They can be found at etsy.com under the shop BEXLINX. I love every single color combination that she comes up with. From gold glitter to tie dye cobra, these handmade bracelets are the perfect pop of color to add to your arm party.

blo - Blow Dry Bar

It's the holiday season and I am sure just as myself many of you are exhausted! Trying to find time to fit everything in between work, Christmas shopping and wrapping, the gym, and all the holiday parties that you must attend life can get a little overwhelming around this time of the year. After what seem like never ending days the last thing I want to do is go home and blow dry my hair for a holiday party. (Which is ridiculously long at this point, can not wait for my cut on Friday) Here is where Blo comes in, Miami's very own Blow Dry Bar, now with two locations one in Brickell and one in Midtown. It’s fabulous and this is why…you can make last minute appointments and they are open from early to late 7am to 9pm on most nights. So you can literally go all ready in your party outfit and just have them style your hair, to kill even more time you can do your make up and finish getting ready while someone ELSE is blow drying your hair. I must admit I fell in love with this concept the second I heard about it. Now keep in mind this is a fast service blow dry bar, this is not John Frieda’s or Rik Rak Salon. Saying that you get what you pay for, its a $35 flat fee for whichever style you choose, but it gets the job done and at a very reasonable price. I decided to try out Blo in Brickell a couple of weeks ago, and I must say I was very impressed with the results. I went with the "holly would" style, which is a fun and flirty style with plenty of bounce. I loved how my hair tuned out, and I very very very picky! Not only did I love how it turned out but the style lasted, it lasted for a long time like three days. I definitely recommend blo bar and I will be back to visit especially in this crazy holiday season.
