Working out, being athletic, and playing sports has always been a part of my daily life ever since I can remember. When I was younger it was much easier to be athletic because ever since middle school I played any sport that would have me. Basketball, softball, cross country, and track were the four that I pursued for most of my childhood. Once high school started I was an avid runner and ran cross country and track, eventually sticking to just cross country and becoming really serious about running. I think because of this even way after high school I have always been athletic. In college I was a workout maniac (to an almost unhealthy point), I went daily to my college gym, and had spinning & pilates packages at other gyms. After college this slowed down, of course because life gets more and more difficult and we sometimes don’t make the time we should to take care of ourselves and our bodies. I try as hard as I can to consistently work out and be healthy. I'm a member at the local Equinox gym in Miami, and though a little pricey it’s the only gym I am 100% happy at. (Yes, I have tried many gyms.) To me Equinox offers the best classes and combinations of many different types of workouts. I easily get antsy and need to constantly be changing my workout routine so that I don’t get bored. Equinox is the perfect place for this because they have the best of the best of everything. The best spinning bikes, all levels of yoga and pilates classes, weight training classes, and every single type of cardio and weight lifting machine you could ever dream of. The facilities are impeccably clean and it’s just a happy place to go to and work out. Even being a member of what I think is the best gym in Miami I still fall into ruts. I will work out very hard for 2-3 weeks and then slack off for 2 weeks. Starting this past Sunday I have been trying to get back into my normal workout sessions and routines, and this time I really don’t want to fall into a rut. There are two main things that motivate me to workout and stick to it: #1 is healthy eating, if I am eating healthy I am more motivated to go to the gym, which is why I ordered my fit2go meals for the whole week. #2 is new workout clothes, as silly as this may sound anything from new running shoes to a new sports bra gives me that extra push to workout.

I am super picky about my athletic clothing; I have tested almost every type of workout pant/legging, and running shoe brand that’s on the market. These are the items that I feel are the best. Leggings that never slide down or become sheer, a watch that works as a stop watch and is shock & water proof, a hygienic water bottle, the best ipod (I think) for running, and headbands that don’t slide off your head. These are the items that help me have the best workout I can have. I own most of these items and some are wish items I want, such as the lunar glide nike’s. I hope this motivates some of you to get out there and work out your bodies, it really is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.
P.S.: There is also a #3 thing that motivates me to workout and that is new music on my iPod!!! Here are some new songs that have been motivating me lately.
